Leo Choi

Leo Choi is an experienced piano teacher and active performer with a Master of Arts in Music and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Music with First Class Honours from Hong Kong Baptist University. He was awarded a fellowship from the Hong Kong University Grants Committee to pursue his master’s degree, and his academic excellence earned him multiple scholarships and consistent placement on the President’s Honour Roll. He is also an RCM Certified Teacher with over five years of teaching experience, working with students from young beginners to adults. His students have consistently achieved excellent results in piano exams and competitions, including distinctions in RCM and ABRSM exams, as well as top placements in international competitions.

Leo’s teaching philosophy is rooted in structure, patience, and musical exploration. He believes in building a strong technical foundation while nurturing each student’s individual expression and confidence. Lessons are tailored to suit personal goals—whether for exams, competitions, or pure enjoyment. His students have earned awards such as 1st runner-up in the 2023 Global Outstanding Young Musicians Competition and high distinctions in exams.

As a performer, Leo has participated in numerous concerts, including Music and Friends 2022Reverie: Fantasia of France, and Piano Tricks or Treats. He has won several awards, including the Championship and “Best Performer” in the Chopin Polonaise Category at the 2023 Faber Piano Competition (Hong Kong & Macau Region), and top placements in the Elite Piano and Hong Kong Youth Piano Competitions.

Leo has studied with distinguished teachers such as Dr. Kawai Chan and Mr. Stephen Wong, and has participated in masterclasses with internationally acclaimed pianists including Dr. Yoonie Han, Nancy Loo, and Dr. Amy Sze. He is committed to creating an encouraging and inspiring learning environment where students can grow musically and personally.
