Why Music Lessons For My Child?

Though our children may seem strong and healthy, growing up is hard. Circumstances change. That's why the mental health and wellbeing of children is of global public health concern (World Health Organisation, 2021).

That's also why music lessons are important: Studies show strong correlations with music lessons on children's mental health and wellbeing (Birrell et al, 2024). And private music lessons most of all (Rife et al, 2001).

Music Inside Out brings award-winning teaching and a unique, results-oriented approach to your child's learning. We specialize in finding your child's innate curiosity and talent, helping them reach exciting achievements.

FROM OUR STUDENTS AND PARENTS

My kid has been learning at this school for three years. He loves to show us what he learned after each class and you can see he truly enjoys playing the piano. There are many opportunities for students to participate in formal and informal recitals. The confidence and joy my child experiences through these events are invaluable. I really appreciate Dr. Koh and Ms. Chen for their help!

My son has been taking lessons with Dr. Koh for several years. She has a deep knowledge of piano pedagogy but her approach also incorporates current research about how children best learn music. What has impressed me the most is that she has been very responsive to my son's interests which keeps him self-motivated and continually looking forward to his lessons. As a music teacher myself I have been very happy and satisfied with the education from Music InsideOut.

Option 1: Do Nothing -- Summer Is For Fun!
(What will happen when a parent enrolls their child for lessons)

  • First, lessons are fun. Music Inside Out prides itself on its results: Building up your child’s confidence, self-esteem, and emotional expression*. This makes for a summer that is memorable, enabling, and transformative. But your child can very easily go through the summer doldrums and languish — falling behind from their peers (Nomaguchi et al, 2018).
  • We know that it’s easy to be concerned about how our children stop developing during the summer.  Studies show the adverse effect of long summers without creative stimulation and structured learning (Brazendale et al, 2017; Eglitis et al, 2024; Nomaguchi et al, 2018).
  • But Music Inside Out has you covered. Our lessons are stimulating, structured for serious learning that underscores your child’s innate ability, and allows for strong results. You will be amazed. Best of all, your lessons can be scheduled with flexibility. You can fit your child’s music lessons around your vacation plans.
