Wah Hei NG is an accomplished musician and educator with a prestigious academic background, holding a doctoral degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and an education from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Dr. Ng has established a remarkable international presence, with my award-winning compositions performed in Hong Kong, the United States, Finland, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and Mainland China. Notably, my music has been performed by the Grammy-winning Kansas City Chorale under renowned conductor Charles Bruffy.

 

With over 25 years of experience as a private violin and theory instructor, Dr. Ng has taught students ranging from age 3 to adults, emphasizing violin and music theory. His extensive teaching portfolio includes roles as a conductor at various secondary schools and as an instructor for high school music programs such as HKDSE, IB, and IGCSE. Additionally, he has taught at post-secondary institutions like the School of Continuing and Professional Studies (CUHK) and Caritas Institute of Higher Education (now St. Francis University).

 

Dr. Ng has served as a secondary school music teacher at Diocesan Boys’ School and as Head of Performing Arts at Tai Kwong Hilary College. In Hong Kong, he held positions as the assistant concertmaster of the HK Youth Symphony Orchestra and leader of the second violin section at the HK Chamber Orchestra. Before leaving Hong Kong, he had the honour of performing as a soloist in Vivaldi’s Four Violin Concerto with the HK Chamber Orchestra.

 

Dr. Ng’s teaching philosophy centers on encouragement and setting high goals for students while maintaining a compassionate and understanding approach. Lessons are well-organized with clear objectives, designed to be engaging and routine-oriented.
