Lydia is a passionate pianist and musician who is currently studying in the Masters of Piano Performance and Pedagogy program at the University of Toronto under Dr. Midori Koga. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in Comprehensive Music at Wilfrid Laurier University, where she received the Meta Voss Music Award, Eric RW Schultz Music Award, and Charles and Myrtle Walkom Music Award. Lydia completed her ARCT Performance exam with First Class Honours in the summer of 2021.
Lydia believes that music is a powerful tool to develop lifelong skills, a bridge that builds up communities, and an instrument that fosters inspiration and imagination. She strives to guide her students to connect to music in a meaningful and personal way.
Outside of her piano playing and teaching passions, Lydia enjoys singing and songwriting, recording music, playing volleyball, soccer, and basketball, as well as enjoying quality time with her family and friends.
