Chia-Yu Hsu

Dr. Hsu enjoys a diverse career as a pianist, accompanist, bassoonist, double-reed maker, music arranger, music theory instructor, lecturer in universities, specializing in teaching students who are pursing the RCM Examinations (piano and music theory) and Yamaha Music Examination. Chia-Yu had taught at music academies in East York and Mississauga before joining the Music InsideOut.

Professional performing engagements included the National Art Centre Orchestra, Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Civic Orchestra of Chicago, National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, and the Taipei Philharmonic Orchestra. Chia-Yu has given a lecture in the International Double Reed Society and the Taipei National University of the Arts. Chia-Yu earned a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in music performance at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Master’s degree at Tel-Aviv University, and a Bachelor’s degree at Taipei National University of the Arts.
